Salt storage

Salt storage

The international airport Paris-Charles de Gaulle (also known as Roissy Airport) was looking for a solution for salt storage during periods of frost. It is vitally important that the airport always has an adequate supply of road salt in order to combat slipperiness. With the interlocking concrete blocks by Legioblock, combined with the aluminium doors and roofs, they achieved a solution that is flexible and sustainable, and more importantly, requires little maintenance.

Fast construction

As the blocks can be easily stacked, the salt storages were built in the span of only a few working days. And because no fixing material or cement was used, the storages could be used immediately after construction.

Movable

Flexibility is important for the airport. The storage space can now be moved or expanded at any given time. This allows them to easily adapt to changing storage needs or build a new storage location when expanding.

Dry and sustainable

Choosing Legioblock gave them a sustainable solution for dry salt storage that is low on maintenance. This is ideal as it protects the salt from weather damage, and this construction also has excellent ventilation. Both the Legioblocks and the roof construction resist the aggressive action of salt. They are sustainable and 100% recyclable.

Customised

Both the construction and roofs are customised. Legioblock and Blommaert have years of experience in their fields and are reliable partners for your construction!
